INTAKE DAY
5-Star Service Begins the Moment You ArriveUpon arrival at Copper Canyon Senior Care, a personal care attendant offers a warm shower, followed by a delicious home-cooked meal.
Next, the residents and staff share where they are from and tell something memorable about their lives. This gives the new resident an idea of who is living with them and providing their care. We give our new resident a tour of their new home and give them a personal call button with instructions to call for help whenever they need assistance, day or night. |

Many seniors with physical or mental disabilities have a fear of falling. This is a valid concern since falls can result in hip fractures, head injuries, and other complications.
The staff at Copper Canyon Senior Care have been trained in the most effective fall prevention strategies. We do everything in our power to reduce fall risk factors. This involves performing a thorough home safety assessment, adapting the environment to minimize hazards, and implementing regular low-impact physical activity to increase balance and mobility. Our care home is completely modified to reduce fall risks, especially in the bathroom—where the risk is generally higher. We proudly showcase non-slip surfaces, grab bars, raised toilet seats, wheelchair ramps, handrails, adequate lighting, and stand-by assistance by care providers. |
We are proud to have a dynamic and personable team of professionally-trained caregivers who provide companionship and compassionate care.
They humbly assist with toileting and grooming, help with mobility and transfers, and perform laundry and detailed housekeeping. Being a small, private facility, we're able to maintain ideal staffing ratios, making it easy for residents to access their care provider. Since we offer care and supervision around the clock, our night staff are on call and ready to assist at any hour. Our staff are selected through a careful screening process and must pass a fingerprint and drug screening. They also must have 40 hours of initial on-boarding training, and 20 hours of annual training. This training includes, but is not limited to:

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) are the basic activities that are necessary for adults to function during the day and night. They are defined as:
The level of personal assistance and care that your loved one needs will be determined during their pre-admission assessment.
|
At this age, meals become the most important part of the day! Our communal dining table is not only a place to eat—it’s also a place to socialize, laugh, tell stories, and make memories.
We prepare and serve three nutritionally-balanced meals and snacks daily. We strive to accommodate any dietary needs, including low-glycemic, vegetarian, vegan, or any other modified diet prescribed by a doctor as a medical necessity. Our custom meals are made fresh in our open kitchen, and residents can join the staff in minor food preparation if they choose to. The meals are served in the dining room and if additional assistance is needed with feeding, a caregiver will be there to help. The menu changes weekly, depending on resident requests. View our menu where you will find some of our residents’ past favorites! |
To ensure that you only smell the comforts of home, bedrooms are cleaned and bedding is laundered daily.
With our meticulous levels of cleanliness, we ensure that your family member’s bedroom is always clean, comfortable, and presentable. We supply all cleaning supplies needed for performing housekeeping duties such as sanitizing solutions, laundry soap, paper towels, and more. Additional services provided daily include: vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, mopping floors, cleaning, and sanitizing of bathrooms. |
As people age, medical appointments become a big part of life. Unfortunately, scheduling these appointments and arranging transportation to and from the doctor's office can be a heavy burden on the family.
At Copper Canyon Senior Care, we understand this dilemma, and that’s why we assist in the communication with your loved one’s physicians and help coordinate transportation.

Medications play an essential part in any senior's care plan.
They can be an effective way to manage acute and chronic conditions. This is why, upon intake, we contact all prescribing physicians to confirm dosing and timing of medications. Our staff members are trained in the proper handling and distribution of medications. We ensure that your loved one’s prescriptions will be administered and documented accurately. Pharmacy delivery service available at Copper Canyon Senior Care. |
At Copper Canyon Senior Care, we get to know the person separate form the disease process. We look at the underlying causes that preceded the Dementia/Alzheimer's diagnosis, along with their physician before provided assisted care.
This allows our care team to identify symptoms and environmental factors that can trigger Dementia behaviors. We then work together with our resident's physician and family to create a care plan that will allow the senior to live life to its fullest. We do this through functional activities, therapeutic exercises, a nutritional diet with lots of fruits and vegetables, daily hydration, regular eliminations, a supportive environment, and a physician-approved medication regime. Our egress system and caregiver supervision ensure that your loved one is secure and will not wander away from their care home. We reassess our residents regularly, so when changes arise in their condition, we contact their physician and adjustments are made to their care plan as needed. |
Incontinence often becomes problematic in the latter stages of a person's life.
There may be underlying conditions that cause symptoms of incontinence. After a discussion with the resident's physician and family, we will determine the best way to manage urinary incontinence. We will then determine if their condition can be managed through one of the following methods:
